Federal Home Loan Bank of New York Combats Homelessness with $250K Donation

The Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY) has renewed its commitment to community well-being with a $250,000 grant to The Partnership To End Homelessness. This funding will be used to reduce the risk of homelessness for vulnerable New Yorkers by keeping them in their homes.

Thank you to the FHLBNY for investing in our homelessness prevention programming. We are grateful to you for recognizing that the most compassionate and cost-effective way to address NYC homelessness is by keeping New Yorkers in their homes.

When someone loses their home, securing new housing often means facing higher rent—making it harder to preserve affordability. By enabling people to remain in their homes, we protect existing affordable housing and prevent displacement-driven rent increases. This stability also ensures landlords can meet mortgage obligations and maintain their properties, supporting the overall affordability of our communities.

Thanks to partners like the FHLBNY, The Partnership saved homes for 5,600 New Yorkers, which translated to a cost savings of $216M in public spending on shelters this past year. The Partnership is honored to continue working with the FHLBNY to save homes for thousands more New Yorkers.
