Save Homes as Safety Net Slashed

Compassion is empathy in action. Together with Inclusion, Integrity, Professionalism and Social Justice, it comprises The Partnership’s five values. Our values guide what we do and how we do it.

Our values are the reason we look to intervene upstream, rather than after people lose their homes, and work to end homelessness by preventing it. Last year, we saved homes for 5,600 New Yorkers.

Our values are at the heart of our story-telling that ensures the confidentiality of our clients’ identities while amplifying their voices to reveal that communities of color, primarily women and children, immigrants, older and trans individuals and families are among the New Yorkers most hurt by homelessness.

In the current chaotic climate of funding and security threats to the most vulnerable of our neighbors in tandem with cross-sector abandonment of commitments to diversity and equity, including care for immigrant and trans New Yorkers and their families, overwhelm threatens to render many of us helpless, hopeless and inert.

Our values are our compass and guide us to stay the course. We are leaning into our values to know that we can and must continue to make a difference for the most vulnerable New Yorkers. We invite you to partner with us.

As widespread slashing of federal funding has already commenced and the philanthropic priorities of some institutions in other sectors mirrors the tectonic shifts in federal government policy, the power of individual supporters is unprecedented.

Your compassion can make a difference today.
