The Power of Community

The Partnership is proud to offer two support groups for our clients. The LGBTQIA+ Support Group provides a safe and affirming space for individuals to share experiences, build community and strengthen coping skills. The Vision Boarding and Goal-Setting Group is a space for participants to identify personal aspirations, develop actionable steps toward them and cultivate motivation for positive change.
These support groups increase clients’ capacities to explore personal growth, build self-confidence and strengthen resilience.
Our support groups are facilitated by Master of Social Work (MSW) interns who work alongside our Programs team. The group work provides valuable opportunities for clients to develop therapeutic relationships and receive support, while assisting the interns’s growth as emerging clinicians.
The Power of Partnership

For the second consecutive year, The Partnership is welcoming MSW students completing their field placements through a collaboration with the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, City University of New York. The internship offers students hands-on experience working directly with clients while making meaningful contributions to our mission to end homelessness by preventing it.
This year’s students are seeking greater experience in how to use group work as a clinical intervention to foster connection and community among our clients, and reduce the isolation that often accompanies the threat of eviction. One focus has been supporting neurodivergent clients and their families, a population that faces a heightened risk of housing instability and homelessness.
The collaboration is invaluable, expanding the capacity of The Partnership’s Programs team and enabling us to serve more clients across all five boroughs of New York City. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Hunter College.
