The Lily Auchincloss Foundation Fights Homelessness with $50K Grant to The Partnership

The Lily Auchincloss Foundation has awarded The Partnership To End Homelessness (The Partnership) a $50,000 grant in support of its ongoing efforts to combat homelessness in New York City. The funding will be used to strengthen the organization’s general operations over the next two years.

“We are honored to receive funding from a foundation whose values and vision align so closely with our own,” said Áine Duggan, CEO of The Partnership. “This grant is a testament to the Lily Auchincloss Foundation’s commitment for a more vibrant New York where everyone has a home. We are very grateful for their generosity.”

New York’s homelessness story includes, less than one percent (4,000 people), experiencing street homelessness; 10 percent (90K) living in shelters and 90 percent (800K including 222K children; 1 in 5 city children) living in 317K homes in rental arrears, at risk of eviction. The Lily Auchincloss Foundation’s grant will ensure that The Partnership can sustain and expand its homelessness prevention programming, making a direct impact on the lives of many New Yorkers in need.

The Partnership To End Homelessness intervenes upstream to prevent homelessness, providing rental assistance, benefits navigation, rapid rehousing, mental health support and other services to stabilize individuals and families and keep them in their homes. In the past year, The Partnership saved 2,240 homes for 5,600 New Yorkers. This translates to an estimated $216 million in public spending on shelter.

Founded to support organizations that promote human services, cultural enrichment and community well-being, the Lily Auchincloss Foundation has been a leader in empowering innovative solutions across New York City. Their focus on fostering long-term impact aligns with The Partnership’s dedication to addressing the root causes of homelessness while ensuring that individuals and families receive the support they need to thrive.
